The Story Behind Sprouting Families New Jersey

Hello and welcome!

My name is Emily Green-Hamilton.  I am a Birth Arts International trained Birth Doula & Child Birth Educator in the South Jersey /Philadelphia area.  My passion is empowering families as they embark on their journey into parenthood, by providing people and their birth partners with their choices in childbirth and providing support to help achieve their desired birth experience.  Personally, I have brought my children into the world naturally at a birth center and via Cesarean. I have also experienced a miscarriage. I feel my personal experiences help me to prepare women for their birth/ postpartum experience and meet their needs with empathy and compassion.

When I am not working at Sprouting Families, I am a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the public school and hospital settings. There is more information about SLPs and what we do in the services section under Sprouting Speech & Language.

Another job, perhaps my most important job, is being a mother! I live in Collingswood in our 114 year old Victorian with my husband, Ben, and our blended family of 5 kids, affectionately known as "The Wild Bunch" ranging from the teenage to toddler years. We have a menagerie of children of the animal variety, as well.

Aside from Birth, Speech, and my Family, I am passionate about many things including human & animal rights issues, environmental issues, reading, old houses, the beach, good food, and coffee.
